Legal Counsel – Permanent or Contract

This unique opportunity provides legal support across diverse retail operations—a full-time permanent role (hybrid) based in Melbourne. A 6 – 12 month contract may also be considered for the right candidate.
Role Overview:Partner with stakeholders to deliver practical and commercially sound legal solutions.Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.Provide strategic advice on compliance and regulatory matters.Engage and manage external legal advisors effectively.Foster legal awareness by training team members on obligations and emerging developments.
Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 6 years post-admission legal experience, with a strong background in commercial and corporate law.Proven ability to advise on commercial contracts (including technology, construction, and procurement), privacy and data protection, and competition and consumer law.A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills.A humble, collaborative mindset with a curiosity to learn and grow.
